The Met South Beach is located in one of the hottest areas to live in Miami Beach called South of Fifth or SoFi for short (pronounced ‘so-fye’). As its name suggests, South of Fifth is located south of Fifth Street at the south end of Miami Beach. It is a peninsula surrounded by Biscayne Bay to the west, Government Cut to the south and the Atlantic to the east. The east side of the peninsula has beautiful white sand beaches and the west side has dockage for yachts and boats. Although SoFi has its share of high-rise condominium towers, there are less than in other areas of Miami Beach giving South of Fifth a genuine neighborhood feel. Driving along the ample, tree-lined streets, one can see folks cycling, jogging or strolling about under the warm south Florida sunshine.
There are a number of excellent restaurants within walking distance and Miami Beach lies just to the north offering a myriad of entertainment and shopping options. Unlike other areas in Miami Beach, SoFi has a more relaxed feel and has become quite popular over the last few years.
